Prathama Jr.
Namaste Parents,
Welcome to BalVihar. We are planning to have an exciting year.
We hope to teach the kids about Indian culture, Hinduism and Hindi language.
The children are learning the following slokas in the classroom.
Kalapadrumam – pg 8 in Bal Vihar book
Vakrathunda – Pg 8 in Bal Vihar book
Asathoma – Pg 9 in Bal Vihar book
We’d appreciate your support in helping the children memorize these as they’ll be reciting the slokas every week and during the Diwali function at the temple.
All Bal Vihar students will be singing a bhajan in the Diwali function on Oct 29th at the Temple. The lyrics is posted on the Bal Vihar home page. Please print the lyrics and help your child(ren) memorize the bhajan.
Thank you!

Culture: Students learnt about the importance of Oct 2nd – Gandhi Jayanthi and International Day of Non-violence and listened to a brief biography of Mahatma Gandhi.
Students learnt the meaning of “Namaskar” last week and colored a Namaskar picture using the 6 colors they’ve learnt so far. Please stop by the classroom and see the art work on the wall.
Language: We reviewed the sounds of अ and आ and explored hindi words (including names) that start with these sounds. We learnt इ and ई today. Students were provided practice sheets for these two letters for their homework.
We also reviewed the colors learnt in the past two weeks – kaalaa (black), safed (white), peela (yellow), neela (blue), haraa (green) and laal (red).
